Guitar Sound in Settings

In Scale Mate load the, “Ascending Chord Run With Slides” riff and listen to it. Note that the sound is a slightly overdriven electric sound. Whenever you load an existing riff, the guitar sound will be set to whatever the originator of the riff set it to.

Whether you’re creating a new riff or have loaded a saved riff like this, you can change the guitar sound if you want to.

To do that, open the Settings Menu and be sure Fretboard is selected. Then scroll down to, "Guitar Sound".

The options available are:

  1. Clean Strat
  2. Overdrive
  3. Acoustic
  4. Jazz.

All sounds from each were sampled from real instruments but file sizes were kept as small as possible to minimize issues with slow internet connections.

I did sample hammer-ons, pull-offs, bends and slides and they can sound a little hokey from time to time but the whole purpose of each of these guitar sounds is to give you an idea of what your riff might sound like once you get it worked up.

To select a different guitar sound just select the radio button next to the one you want to try.

And there you go. That’s how you change the guitar sound for your riff!
